SERBIAN BUDO COUNCIL

Serbian Budo Council (SBC) is an amateur non-governmental martial arts organization officially founded back in 1994. It is registered by the State Ministry of Sports (Reg. # 6644) since 1999. The first SBC club was founded in 1991 in Pozarevac (known as SHINBUKAN). Our main arts are jujutsu (aka jiu-jitsu) and kenjutsu (japanese sword art). We are focused on modern martial arts and combat sports  (gendai, Shinbudo).

SBC is run by the General Assembly, created by representatives from each registered active section (town). Membership in SBC is given only to those sections and clubs which pay annual fee and accept our ranking policies. SBC operates according to the Statute and Bylaws registered with the state Ministry of sports.

As of 1999 the instructors of SBC have initiated series of jujutsu and chanbara seminars and competitions in Serbia. SBC instructors were also running or participating as guest instructors and contestants on numerous jujutsu, kenjutsu and chanbara (sport kenjutsu) gatherings abroad.

Since 2005 SBC conducts its independent national championships, within SHINBUDO disciplines, known as NATIONAL SHINBUDO GAMES. As of 2007 SBC is the initiator of activities of INTERNATIONAL SHINBUDO ASSOCIATION (ISA), which organizes ISA Games. SBC also co-operates with other national and international martial arts organizations.
